Farmall to the rescue (not for Deere lovers!)

A spectator shot the attached as we prepared to hook my Super M to this JD D and pull it from the track at the Churchville (NY) Country Fair pull.

The beautifully restored, hand-start D - belonging to my good friend Peter - stalled at the end of it's pull and refused to refire. (The Super M went on to a first place finish in the class!)

When I moved here from NS, a trucking company moved my tractor and implements. Farmall 130 landed here with switch on and battery, alternator and wiring harness cooked. Had to unload tractors about 2 miles away. I hooked wires up in a temp fashion and put some charge in battery from car. Headed for home with Marg following me in car. As I turned onto our side road, I beckoned for her to go on ahesd. She just got out of site when tractor quit, battery ran out of juice. I was just ready to start walking when road grader pulled in to grade our road. Of course I was in his way. He got out and this is how I met one of my new neighbors, an old iron MH guy. He told me who all the old iron guys in new neighborhood were. In the end he towed me as he graded road to my driveway. He said he would probably get some flack, for towng me. As it turned out, not many saw us, only one we heard of, an old iron guy asked him if the Champion road grader really needed the little Farmall pushing. My tractor had the snow blade on.
