Which would be best to run 10w-30 or 30wt in 140? Temps are low 25f to high 95f in summer. Would 30wt summer and 10w30 winter be alright? Tractor sees moderate use. 15w-40 has higher ash content or do you think it would be ok? Thanks...

Avery: I have been running diesel service oil in every engine I own since about 1970. Today that includes a Super A, 130, 140, 4 cycle lawn mower, Chevy pickup and a Buick lesabre. In the beginning I used 30 in summer and 20 in winter, (Canada) About 1990 I switched to 15W-40

During my farming days it included 4 trucks, car, 7 tractors, 2 skid loaders, combine and the same lawn mower. The lawn mower is 29 years old and everything has been replaced but the engine.

If you use the tractor enough to merit the changing from 10W-30 winter to 30 in the summer I would go that way. If you don’t then I’d go with 15W-40 year around. I don’t see a problem with either plan.
