I paid $3500 for my Super M. It was a stage 2(live hydraulics), everything worked, it had power steering, a wide front end, and good tires.

I thought I got a really good deal, but I don"t really know what the going price is, so I probably overpaid after reading comments from others. The tractor has been very useful and fun to operate so I"m just glad I have it and don"t dwell on the price. I liked the Super M so much, I recently bought a Super MTA, thinking that the TA and LPTO would be even more useful.

Good luck!

Dale

Hey Dale,

Right off the bat, you can pencil in roughly $1K for that front end.

Then, deduct another $2500 for plain old fashioned satisfaction & your ear to ear grin, and it looks to me like ya got it for nothing. :>)

Money isn't everything, that's for sure.

Allan

Allan,
I think that"s a good way to look at it. I have friends with expensive hobbies compared to mine. (stock car racing, horses, airplanes) The way I see it, the value can be measured in the amount of utility or the amount of pleasure it brings. In the case of the Super M it gives me both, and at $3500 it"s hard to get a better value!

Dale

I Paid 2300 for mine and I had to put a head gasket and new front tires on it.Along with a altenator rebuild and tune up. So I have about 2500 in it now.It had 15.5 38s that are a little better than 60% rubber.I know I paid to much but I have a trophy hanging on my wall from when I pulled this tractor for the guy That owned it and took first place so it had some sentimental value to me also. As far as M&W parts unless some one has found NOS it probly was rebuilt in the 70s after that is when the M&Ws became hard to get In my area any ways. So it may have M&Ws or it may just be a high compression rebuild and thats what there calling it. The tractor I bought had all new firecrators within the last 5 years along with a rocket govener and some distributor modifications. So I new what I was getting. You may want to ask what year it was rebuilt or even do a compression check yourself. JON

A little steep -- and, there is no such thing as "just needs paint".

I second that. Paint, tires, seals, decals, hoses, belts and I could go on. Pretty soon you have a $4000 dollar SM. But nowdays thats a fairly cheap price tag for a machine that if taken care of will last the rest of your life and provide thousands of hours of enjoyment. My 2cents.

Bubbah When I look at a SM the first thing I check is the play in the steering, next I check the brakes to see if the discs slide freely on the brake shaft, next I check the hydraulic pressure.next I see if there any bubbles in the radiator with the engine running cold, Any of these items will cost half of an engine overhaul. As for the price, you add 500.00 for paint, 600.00 for rear tires and you have a very high priced SM
