I have a chance to buy a farmall cub. I believe it"s around a 1949 - 50 cub. It"s stuck and has a hairline crack on bottom radiator tank. Also, it has about an 1 1/2 inch size diameter hole in the top of the gas tank. I was wondering if you can still get these replacement tanks or is the tank and sheet metal all one piece? If I can"t, how hard would it be to fix this hole in top of tank. About how much would I be talking about in price if I had to buy the hood and tank? Any help with this?

Rethinking your post. The bottom of the radiator is the steering gear housing - that large chunk of cast iron at the base of the radiator. That crack can be repaired at the welding shop.

I think I might be visiting a welding shop then. Thanks again for everyone's help.

You can have a welding shop repair the hole in the top of the gas tank for a lot less money than another hood and gas tank. If you have the equipment you can do it yourself for next to nothing. Repair and a little body filler - it will look like a new hood and tank. Ball park figure to braze or wire weld the hole $30.00.

Radiator. New ones cost in the neighborhood of $200.00 Just a guess that it will cost about the same, to repair the radiator or purchase a new one.

$400.oo is a good price. IMO go for it.

The hood and tank are one piece. Anything can be fixed with the right tools and equpment. They sell stough like that on ebay all the time. How much do they want for the tractor? JON
