How do you check and replace the cam bearings on a W4 or H?

You guys have me nervus about my oil pressure, and the cam bearings are the only thing I didn't change. I had an old IH guy tell me the cam bearings didn't usally wear. Maybe I was told wrong? I'm going to check the pump first of course.

Thanks For the help Bob

Hi Bob, Your machine shop should've recommended
new cam bearings. Did you have that block cooked?
They usually recommend new bearings when this is done and a new cam too if the lobes are worn. I always use SAE30 oil in the tractors when used hard in the field, such as plowing or discing. I hate tearing down the engine twice.

My neighbor was watching me pulling my gas tank on a car to replace the fuel pump. He said I wouldn't change that pump. I replied you're not doing the work, I'm the one that would have to pull that tank again and I don't like doing it twice. Good Luck, Hal

I did not have the block cooked, it was clean inside, no gunk. The IH guy said the cam bearings usually don't go and they seamed to be tight. I also was over budget and that played a big part. The cam it self looked good and a replacment is not available. I am going to check the oil pump well and hope I find the problem there.

Thanks Bob
