I have a 1950 Farmall M narrow front no P/S. I have excessive play in steering and the front tires wobble at road speed. Can anyone tell me how to correct this or what parts I need?
Thanks, Brad

I have the same problem with my M too. This very question comes up several times a month. This must be a common problem with the trikes; however, I would not have anything else ( maybe a SMTA).

I had that troublewith my SMTA, took the cover off the steering box and noticed the gear that engages the worm would raise up slightly when wheel turned, tightened up nut a bit and it helped greatly as well as taking some play out of wheel. Don"t tighten it too tight or will make steering hard.

Brad, also if your front tires do not match it will contribute to wobble at road speed.

Brad. Could be many things or a combintion.
The nut and or bearing on the end ot the warm shaft, the warm on warm shaft bad. Coudl be the nut on top of the bolster shaft loose the warm gear loose on the bolster shaft, ot the teeth on the warm gear bad, the m's came with just a half gear so it can not be turned to new spot on the gear the new replacement gears were full gears if you M has full gear you might just turn it to better spot. Then you have the bushins and bearings on the bolster shaft. Taht the cover off the bolster housing and see what is moveing, in and out or up and down.
