I recently purchase a farmall intnational cub tractor with the serial # 99817. As I starting to redo the engine, I noticed white paint under the red paint. I looked in one of my books that the serial # and the casting letter L indicate it was a 1950 White Demo Cub. I would aperciate if anybody had any information regarding this type of tractor like paint# or anything. Thank you.

The paint is whitecap white -- I don't know the code. The L means it was built in Louisville -- all Cubs were. The casting numbers you are looking for are in the format month*day*year. The year will be an S for 1949 or a T for 1950. Your serial is in the accepted range for a white Cub. The wheels, lights, seat, distributer, air cleaner cap, and steering wheel are red, everthing else white.
