Rear wheel spacing on Super C

Just bought a Super C with a small loader on front and am wondering if there are any particular drawbacks to moving the rear wheels to the maximum width. Terrain here is a bit hilly so this would help things - but I don't want to bust up the tractor either. Main uses will be clearing brush and trees the first year or so, then possibly some limited plowing and cultivating.

Any thoughts, suggestions or warnings?

Just remember to be careful. I have seen Super C's with broken front lower pedestals, and ones with the flanges broken off the front of the engine block and rear of the front bolster. They are not at all heavy duty tractors, especially in front.

When I cleaned off the dirt, grease and grime from the front bolster of my B, I saw it had been welded up. Broke (or cracked) just below where it bolts to the steering gear. I've seen others in the same condition.

Andy: That should help by moving rears out as far as ya can..Having fluid in them and or weights could also help.. The other thing is to keep the loaded bucket as low as you can while moving around and don't let the front wheels drop into a hole.. Sound like a lot to do but really it just adds up to using common sence while working once you know what can "trip" you up..
enjoy using it..... harvey

That is what there for. I have my super "c" with the wheels far apart and it works great for me. It climbs hills and rocks like nothing. I use mine to clean up brush plies, pull large stones, tree stumps, etc. Works great! Have fun I am sure your super "c" will give you much enjoyment as mine has. Bob
