Hey guys, found the number, it is a 157. It is the one based off the british utilities, much like the 454 and similar models. Thanks for the help.

Bill: Gas engine I presume, should be cast into block. Probably C-123 as I believe 2400 is the Industrial version of the 240. To be sure look for that number, will have C or D for Carb or Diesel and the numbers are the cubic inch. Block part number will be 6 diget plus R1, R2, R3 or R4. Just under number one plug should be engine serial and model stamped on a machined surface. All of these numbers will nail it down.

Hugh, not sure but I think the 2400 was built in the '70's and is based off of the British utilities. I'm sure it dosen't have anything in common with the old 240.

K.B.: Now that you jogged my memory, I think your right. I guess I was kind on thinking along the line of an IT manual I have here which covers 404 and 2404. IH must have built an Industrial version of the 240 Utility. Looking at the offsets they just called them Internationals. The 240 Utility was allready an International. Just how was a 240 Industrial designated? I'm not trying to argue as I think you are right. I now remember being close up on one of those 2400, heavy chassis like a 444, 454, etc. I believe it had a peddle operated shuttle shift as well.
