IF THIS HELPS,I PULL MY FARMALL H ON A REGULAR BASIS AS FOLLOWS-TRACTOR WITH NO WEIGHTS,NO LOAD IN TIRES,NO HYDRALIC PUMP,5 GAL.GAS,FULL ENGINE AND TRANS FLUID MINE COMES IN AT 3880 LBS. INCLUDING MY WEIGHT OF 190 LBS.+\- 10 LBS.WHEEL WEIGHTS ARE APPROXIMATLY 145LBS. EACH. HYDRALIC PUMP IS ABOUT 50-75 LBS.+\- FLUID TRAPPED INSIDE AS A GUESS,I NEVER CHECKED THE WEIGHT OF THE PUMP ALONE.HOPE THIS HELPS.

T.W. Cook's Farmall H site has more info on H's than any other site I've found. Here's a link to the 'Specifications' page.

Well, after reading this link, I have never seen a Farmall H that was that light in weight, my 51 model, with 13.6 rubber, no weights, or fluid in the tires, with fenders, and belt pulley installed, weighs 4055 pounds.

The 3175 lbs must be without wheels -- that's why I pay little attention to links. Guy Fay's book says 3725 lbs, since the belt pulley and pto were options, that seems correct. I don't know whether that includes fluids. Add two rear weights and it is very close to your 4055 lbs. For hauling purposes I usually assume 4000 lbs +/- with no fluid and no more than one wheel weight per side.

I think so, too.
I clearly remember reading 3700 lbs. somewhere else, and All-Makes Tractor Tips>Link
says>Link 5500. Which seems high, 'cause when I pulled mine up the Saluda Grade with the Tahoo I would have had to use the truck lane.
Every one agrees on the horsepower, though.
It's 22, 24, 25, 28, or, like my H, known as Mr. Haney, 437. Wm

We pulled a '47 H this summer. We could pull in 4000, 4500, and 5000. We had no fluid in tires, no wheel wts. and removed the belt pull and drive. We added suitcase wts. on front and rear brackets that we had made for the heavier classes. We have 12-38 rear tires. We ran out of power in 5000 class. We bought this tractor 3 years ago for $500 to do hog chores. We put it on dyno be for pulling and had 42 pto horse. It looks pretty ratty but good old tractor.

Bill,

Boy! That's pretty country; reminds me of when I lived back in Virginia. Nice lookin’ rig too!

Let me pick your brain: I don't think a straight H could come up with more than about 17-19 horse at the drawbar. You think it is more than that?

Seems to me that the pop-ups would then push 'em up around 27 horse or thereabouts.

Allan

Hey Allan,
The trailer is borrowed - when my neighbor bought a new Farmtrac and equipment they all but threw it in. The country used to all look like that but now it's just well water that does it - 6 years of below normal rain. Since June all we've gotten is the occasional hurricane deluge. P.S. When the Farmtrac went back to the shop for the third time in a year, this last time a new starter, Jamie started openly saying he wished he hadn't saved so much money on a new tractor.

Oh, yeah - the hp in reply to williamf, 10-16-2004 15:50:21
I've seen the H listed at everything from 19 drawbar for distillate engine to 32 belt for the Super H gas. When people ask me what mine ('46, distillate, latest rebuild the PO said, "We put in a Super H kit.") is I usually round it off to what is probably a generous 25, and I don't try to be specific about where on it you have to hook up to get it.
