Hi Guys,

Finally took time today to get these truss gussets put on.

This little chore has really been a naggin' at me 'cause I remember what these old tractors look like split in two and laying on the ground; just is not pretty. :>(

Allan;
Looks like you should have the ole' gal pretty well ready for anything.
I also remember some 40+ years ago when Johnnie N. was out picking rock with his H and loader. Going across a rough field with a bucket full of rocks is a real test for any tractor. In this case the H didn't pass the test. Johnnie hauled the pieces into town for my Dad to weld up and put together...which he did. Since then, both Johnnie and my Dad have passed on. But, it stills brings me pleasure when I drive by Johnnie's farm which his son operates, and see that old H still earning it's keep.
☺☺☺

Hi Rau,

Yeah, we all snicker to ourselves when those other brands bust the front axles and are so proud of ourselves that our "red beasts" don't do that.

We sometimes forget that the torque tubes are our "front axle problem".

Then later when the forward mount loaders came out the darned front end bushings and pins started falling on the ground even on the bigger 150hp tractors.

Wieght takes it's toll and it is always something, I guess.

Later,

Allan

How about tile blowouts and ground hog holes. Took the front wheels off our H and removed my brothers two front teeth with the steering wheel while mowing. I kinda snickered but I was afraid I'd lose my front teeth if I did.
