Will a B engine work in a C?

Saw an ad today for a C, not running. My B runs okay, but I'd rather have a C. Would I be able to make a B engine fit and work in a C? Any big challenges here? Any other parts interchangeable, like steering bolster, front wheels, radiator, etc?

Big Fred,
I had a C a while back. It was the easiest steering tractor I've ever been on (without power steering). Kinda wishing I hadn't traded, but I got what I wanted in it's place (a B). I'd look for a good running C instead of trying to swap engines. The C has a lot of advantages over the B, but I like the smaller tractors better for "playing" with.

My two cents,
Phil

Big Fred, yes the engines will interchange. You will lack the ability, however, to put the C's hydraulic pump on your B engine and thus the hydraulic components of the C will not work. Options, 1)get the C and get it to run, thus sparing your B from destruction, 2)Get the C and find a power unit engine to put on it, 3)and the best option, buy a running C instead and sell your B.

Thanks, Curt. I kind of consider my B to be a running parts tractor, as it's kind of tired, the tin is in real bad shape, the block has big old welds on it, and the PTO oiler gear is toothless. It runs reliably, though. If I get the C, I would probably try to get it running, but if I run into any real expensive snags, it's nice to know there are options. I think I might go look at a C this weekend. :o)
