I have had some quick success with a faucet wrench, the lazy jaw on a swivel which is used on the nuts on the underside of faucets under sinks. Not sure how deeply recessed the Super A plugs are but those tools get into pretty small areas.

don't know how to help, but how did you round it off to begin with?

I agree with Red1,try driving the next smaller size deep socket onto the plug. I might add that you should not overlook the possibility of using a metric size. Also I would spray a penetrating oil around the base of the plug, as best you can, twice a day for two or three days first. Good luck! Dave.

I probably am going to ask you some questions that you have already answered but, is it in a recessed area, and how deep is the recess. Can you only get a socket on it Suggestion: get a Metric six sided deep socket that is smaller and can be driven down on the plug. You may destroy the socket but it is better than the other. You will probably only have one shot at it, so make it good.

the plug is very recessed and thin wall wrench is
the only way but I used a 12 pt 7/8 wrench on a IMPACT wrench. the plug might be original anyway
in for a long time.I am soaking it now and will try
smaller socket. thanks for the info.I will post results after Thanksgiving. Bob

Should have used a 6 point socket. Never use a 12 point on a difficult to remove item. 12 point sockets and impact wrenches are bad news on tight or rusted components. Follow the previous suggestions and drive a 6 point metric impact socket (not a chrome one) on the damaged plug and use the impact wrench to remove same. It will come out doing this. Good luck
