The way I do mine is with a floor jack and a cement block.Pu block on ground near pump, put jack on block and let it up till it hits pump.Take out bolts and pipes and fill cap.Slowly lower pump with one hand, balance with other.(Hope jack goes down far enough to let pump clear the tractor when I drop it)OR,I get my lazy brother over and hold it up for me while I take it all apart!

The way I remove the pump after disconnecting the drive coupler and oil pipes is as follows: Make 2 "T" shaped rods that will fit in the key slots on each side of the housing. I think 5/8 cold-roll is what I have used. You must weld a short peg on the end that fits the key slot to keep the housing upright. Then get a helper to lift it out. Ken

I couldn't figure out how to do it with the handles(which is how the service manual says) without three people. One on each side and one to take the bolts out. I did it as in these picutes; Kelly C did it the same way, only with better looking euquipment. He's got pictures on his site, too. Here's mine.

You need to get to the seasonal disconect and pull the two cotter pins out then move the two round sleeves in on that and the disconect will fall out or you may have to pull it out then unscrew the fittings out of the side and top put a floor jack under it or something simaler and take the bolts out of the bottom and she will drop down out of there. Mag-Man, I have an opposite question about instalation of that shaft with the sliding sleeves. How do you get that solid shaft back in tight if you had to take off those round slotted nuts that the solid shaft fits into? I get mine tight, run it a while and those round slotted nuts become loose and the shaft is then loose. Thanks!!

Not exactly sure but if your talking about what I think you are it seems like you put a prybar between the gears and tighten that nut up good and snug maybe some loctite to I think it tells in the IT manual I wore those pages out years ago rebuilding my pump time after time and come to find out it was the cylenders and not the pump.I have a good strong pump now though.
