That is quite a loader but looks like it ties up the tractor. The westendorf I was thinking of was all in side the wheels rools over the front mount just like the newer ones that just go to the clutch housing. I know one guy that broke the hydro housing on a 1026 with a westendorf. But you have to know the gut. He had a pit silo was under 3 or 4 feet of frozen silage braking it loose when it fel on the tractor. My brother had a jiffy westendorf on his 300, and you he used it hard, the only thing he broke was rear axles until he replaced the dino-life clutch with the original clutch. Being from the westendorf area and all the westendorf loaders I but on never saw a tractor broken from the loader except the 1026. Sure is nice to drop that loader in about 2 minutes or back on in the same time.

Hi Aces,

Gotta agree with ya, my idea of a good loader does tie the tractor up and granted, we just don't work 'em as hard now as in years gone by.

I guess it was that sight of those tractors broken in two in the heavy alfalfa hay fields when I was younger that sticks in my mind and makes me cry "The sky is falling" all the time. :>)

Those Westendorf outfits do look like a heck of a loader. Don't see 'em out here much as it is mostly DUALs & AGCOs anymore.

Still makes me shudder tho when I see one of those new $7K front hangers on a brand new $40K tractor. Just looks like a problem waiting to happen. :>(

Also have a Westendorf loader, a TA26, and have had it on an 806, 560, and an M and while I don't baby it, I don't horse it too much either, and have had good luck with it so far. Sure like the handiness of taking it off and putting it on in a very short time when need be. Later, Harley
