Which owner, parts and/or operator manuals are best for my Super A? I"ve seen several listed. I"m looking for one that would be best for first-time owners...Are there advantages and disadvantages I should be aware of?
Thx,
Bill

The best quality reprints of the operators, parts and service manuals are from Binder Books dot com. 503-684-2024. There is an I&T manual, IH 8, which covers all letter series, it is a good supplement (it shop manuals dot com)

Thanks for the info, CNKS. And thanks for helping out the other day with my "hybrid" SA (I'm almost convinced it's an SA with a C block. Why the C block, I don't know.) Stan(VA) told me to look for the engine serial number "machined on a small flat just above the distributor", but I haven't located it yet. I see the flat, I think, but no number; I'll see if it's been painted over. Bill

I believe someone mentioned this in your original post -- FCM is the prefix for both the C C113 and Super C C123's. The prefix for an A C113 or a Super A 113 is FAAM (Guy Fay's book does not list the M for the A). The Super A-1 123 also has the prefix FCM. If there is no number, you probably have a factory replacement block, I don't know if those were numbered or not. This has been discussed many times before, as I see it, it is correct as I stated it, but I would not bet my life on it.

I've seen C blocks put in SA to get more power where mowing large areas with belly mount rotary mowers.
