Bob,

Email me. I am located in east central Indiana. I have a friend or two that might be interested in one if it is for sale.

I agree with most of these guys that the pickers true value is set by the price of scrap iron. If you are a fan of old iron I would encourage you to try to find someone with a passion for old tractors and equipment and sell it to them for a reasonable price and you both will come out ahead and preserve a piece of history in the process.

Depending on the condition of the sheet metal and the working components you may be suprised what it will bring. Most of the pickers have all been sold for scrap. Good ones are getting really hard to find. We bought a 234 a couple years ago for 750.00 We have been offered 1200.00 for it. If the picker is still able to pick corn efficiently I would say anywhere from 100.00 up, especially the way steel prices are. Jake

The few mounted pickers that I have seen sell at the farm auctions did not usually bring scrap iron price. The last one I saw at auction brought $1.00.

Never saw one bring more than $5 at auction in SW Iowa over the last few years. Dick Davis
