Hi everyone, i have put a henderson loader on my super a. i used the factory touch controll hydraulics to power it. but when the loader is all the way up, i suck the hydraulics dry. so i need to put an extra resevoir on it. heres my idea, (im looking for any other ideas or input). i would take the bottom drain plug out, and replace it with a hose niple. kinda like the ones you would put on an intake manifold for the brake vacume line. then run a hose to a tank that i have. the tank has a hose niple on the bottom and a lid with a vent hole on the top. the tank will hold about a gallon. so my question is will gravity keep the 2 tanks level with fluid? or how would the experts out there do it?

thanks in advance

I think tapping in at the drain may not work well because the oil may not flow through the drain connection fast enough then you are raising the bucket. I've never tried it, just question it. Tapping into the filler as Hugh suggested is the conventional way of doing it and is known to work.

ok,what line do you sugest i use, i could probably use the filler but the space between my fast hitch helper spring and the filler cap is very small. so what size line inside diameter do you or any of the other farmall buffs recomend.

by the way
i do appreciate all the input. it makes me feel more comfortable working on hydraulics. something i dont know a lot about.

thanks

Try hooking to the drain if you want. Let us know if it works. Use as large a hose as will fit the drain, keep it as short as possible and mount the new tank above the other one. Get the original reservoir as full as possible. Fill the auxiliary and open the original filler plug until oil startes to run out. Cycle the loader to get any air out then bleed the air off the reservoir again.

Bryan: Most of these I've seen are piped into the fill hole of the touch control, with added resovoir above that then vented at top of resovoir. Soon as you go to the vented cover, you can ignor the fill rule of filling to hole with rockshafts in rear position.

I cant see why your proposal wouldn't work well also. Drain hole will be a bit smaller so fluid flow from one to the other would be a bit slower. I think you will be able to make added resovoir look neater using drain. If it doesn't work you can easily change it.
