I am considering buying the owners manual to get maintenance information for my Super A like fluid levels, level plug and drain plug locations for transmission etc. Is there a better source of this sort of information?

For my Super A, I bought the I&T manual, which is a quick overview for fairly experienced mechanics (but provides great specifications). About $20. This is not an IH publication.

Of more use to you would be the regular owner's manual, available at your IH dealer (14.95?). Lots of good service info, and great safety cartoons. It's a modern reprint of the original IH owner's manual.

If you're going to really tear into it, you might want more detailed info than either of these books provide.

Bruce, The operators manual is a wise investment and should provide you with all the general maintenance and service data you need. If you get into overhauling etc. then I'd recommend the service and parts manuals as well. FB
