I remember the "head bolt heaters" on cars. Seems like the tank heaters or soft plug heaters were better. I don"t think a person could torque a head bolt heater like a head bolt so I wonder what the effect would be on the engine. You would have to put it around the edge of the head to avoid being under the valve cover gasket. Just a thought.

If you're looking for a coolant heater try Phillips & Temro at 1-800-328-6108. I have one that's installed in the lower radiator hose. Hal

I found a new one at a farm sale last year. put it on ebay and it sold well enough. just be patient and keep watch. I don't think they are made anymore.

What the Heck is a head bolt heater? Is that like a canipler Pin or muffler bearing,? I have a set of oxy acetlyene that would heat a block stud the head fits over the stud and a nut tightens it down. MagMan

Jon, they used to make an electic block heater that relpaced one of the head studs. Kinda handy to install but I doubt they were very high wattage.

I see NC I figured somebody told the poor guy about something that didnt exists to send him on a goose chase. You learn something new every day. I still am searching for the muffler bearing in my first Truck My brothers said they knew where it was but I had to find it on my own. In the auto trade school I went to the kinifler pin was a biggy.
