Farmall H with an M W clutch

I"m replacing the brake seals on the left side. I was able to remove the brake drum with a puller to get to the inner seal but would like to talk to someone that has some experience with the M & W clutch on an H. I looked at the one on the vintage ads but it is for an M. Thanks.

If you pulled brake drum and clutches off in one piece you have already messed up a retaining ring
at the least.After outside cover is removed the clutches need to come out of drum.If splines on inside of brake drum are not to rusty or dirty they will all pull out togeather with shaft in one assembley.After there removed, in rear of drum
theres a seal and retainer held on by 3 screws.If this seal is replaced it will have to be matched up,its M&W.Under the retainer is a retaining ring
,after its remove the brake drum will slide off pinion shaft.Bull pinion shaft oil seal is there behind brake drum.On a H its M&W also.Be carful with bull pinion bearing retainer that seal is in because its M&W on H also.The photo Earl put on is of SH hand clutch, some differances .

DWV I guess my question is can I reinstall the brake drum without pulling pinion cage. I have both seals for it but the drum did not just slide off freely. After I removed the retaining ring I had to use a puller to get it off. I was wondering if there was much of an interference fit on the splines. I don't know if I should try to drive it back on or if I need to pull the pinion cage. My book says that the left bull gear will need to come for that to happen. Should that brake drum slide freely on the splines? Thanks

Brian,tried to email agian but no luck.Yes the bull gear has to be moved to get bull pinion bearing cage out.If you can get seal out and in without removing would be best.Clean splines and lightly oil to slide on.It shouldnt be a press fit.LOL

I do not know anything about them, I did have one on an H one time, but have sold the tractor. Will this help you any?
