Get Guy Fay's book -- look at other letter series tractors, there is not a lot of difference between them. The side decal is centered between the point where the style line begins and the rear of the hood. There is some question as to whether the bottom of the decal is against the styline or a half inch above. Guy Fay says there was a lot or variation -- the factory guys were not picky. As to oil filter, air cleaner decals, etc, look at the Super series decals.

Guy Fays Book "Farmall Letter Series Tractors" will not have the Farmall M decal placement in it due to it being missing from the IH records. I too have a 44 Farmall M and b/c it was the change over year for the "McCormick Deering" to "IH Farmall" decals, it was really hard to replace the ones I couldn't see anymore on my tractor. After a lot of research I found that 1944-45 Farmall M's had both the early and the later decal configurations on them. Since this was the change over year, I think that the paint/detail dept. was mixing the two until they had a noted and approved change. I say this b/c I have seen four other Farmall M's that still have all the orginal decals from the factory and they are all different when it comes to the decals. Having found that, I thought that I would drive myself nuts trying to figure out what I should do. So I decided to replace what my M had prior to restoration. Then I added decals that I couldn't make out but could match to other 44 Farmall M's. I know you need pictures so what I can do is look through all my pictures and see if I can find some of when I placed my decals after painting. Hopefully this will help you out and I can email you them.

For exact placement, get Guy Fay's "Farmall Letter Series" book.
