Just got an H running. Came with a hydraulic loader. Before I spend a loong day putting that insanely heavy loader back on, how can I test the pressure output from the pump to make sure it still works and will operate the loader? Is there not a pressure meter I can rent from a tool store?

OR plug the pipes off and put some opil in it and pull back on the rod,if the engine bogs a little it works. You wont know the pressure, but youll know if it works or not.

Just go out and buy a hyd preassure gausge from a farm supply place and hook it up. I have one with a quick connect on it for just that type of thing. Costs around $20 and worth haveing around.

Get a guage that goes to 1000 psi at least. The later pumps were rated at 750-800 psi. Some of the early pumps only made 450 psi.

You should always have a gauge that is twice of what you need and sometime on them old tractors they may even go over a 1000 so where ya at with a 900 lbs gauge if ya whant to do a test you should have a high pressure valve after the gauge so yopu can lock the handel -lever back and control it from the valve. All my high pressure gauges are of the 5000 lbs. and my low pressure ones are 600 lbs i use them for the MCV systems test and Hdy. PTO's as they normal don't go over the 300 lb . range.
