My H has two fittings for hydraulics. Are both of the fittings active hydraulic lines or is one of them for something else?

I haven't used an "H" in a long time, but two of the ports raise implements at once, and the third port is slightly delayed. When we farmed, the front cultivators would lift first, then the rear slightly delayed. All three ports basically serve the same purpose except for the delay.

No, you've got three; two on the left side of the tractor and one on the right.

All one way hydraulic ports.

Allen,
What do you mean by all one way? I just put a 3pt hitch on my 39 H. It came off a 450 and has two cylinders but one hose with a tee going to both cylinders. First, which valve do I use? Left or right side of H and can I have down pressure with this? Thanks.

All three ports on the H or M Lift-All are plumbed into the same pump outlet casting and all three have the same pressure at the same time. The delayed pressure (usually the rear port on the left) is only obtained IF a special delay valve is plumbed into the port.
To get 2-way hydraulic pressure you have to install an open center 2-way valve between the Lift-All and the 2-way cylinder.

Thanks for the response. Where can I get one of these and do I need to add more hoses or can I use the one I already have with it?

You really don't need 2-way hydraulics (pressure down) on a 3 point. But, if that's what you want you can get a valve at any hydraulic place or farm store. You need 4 hoses -- One hose from the reservoir to the valve, another hose from the valve to the up port on the cylinder, a hose from the down port on the cylinder back to the valve, and a hose from the valve back to the reservoir, usually teed into the fill port. A valve and custom fit quality lines will cost you $200 or more, cheap stuff (farm store) is less.

Thanks for the response. I am a newby and just curious why you wouldnt down pressure on the 3pt? If I just hook up the current one hose, which valve do I hook it to? Left or right and top or bottom. Thanks.

Allen,
What were some of the uses for the two outlets on the left side of the H?
