Help! Our township recently bought a Sweepster pull - type road brush. We are planning on pulling it with a Farmall 460.
The specs. with the brush say they want 17gpm @ 2000psi.Will the tractor supply that ? I am thinking it should; our Dept of Transportation used to pull them with Farmall 140 "s. Also, there are two large hyd. hoses supply and return hyd. to the two motors that power the brush. However, the one hose T"s at the hitch of the tractor; I am thinking this is the high pressure side of the system?? And lastly, if we attach these hoses to the remotes, do we need to turn from single to double acting and which remote would accept the one low pressure hose. Thanks in advance for your consideration and help.

Brian: To start with you haven't told us enough about the 460. Standard pump on a 460 was 12 GPM and there was an optional 17 GPM pump. Then we have to know whether 460 has 1, 2 or 3 remote valves and does it have fast hitch. Your hydraulic motors have input and output hoses and those must hook to same valve, and yes dual action. Is there lift cylinders for raising and lowering this machine, those would probably require another valve.

You mention road dept pulling these with a Farmall 140. Never, not a beast like you have described. The small ones I've seen behind 140s are mechanical drive either from wheels of brush or PTO. 140 hydraulic system would never power the brush you describe.
