Steering shaft through radiator is rubbing?

I notices on my 49 M during haying that I had a coolant leak on the radiator. While I was adjusting the valves this week, I noticed it's coming from where the shaft goes through the radiator. The radiator is too high and rubbing on the bottom of the hole. Is there a way to correct this? I know when I had the radiator out to fix some leaks on it before that there were some rubber washers on the bottom bolt, can I do anything there to adjust it.

Thanks,
Bobg

Make sure the spot welds on the steel uprights are all tight. If one is loose, it will put it out of square and let it rub...

And, I've noticed that if you rock the top of the radiator back to it's rear water pump "bumper", it gives more room for the shaft. Of course, the hose needs to be short enough to allow this.

Bobg, those rubber washers are too thick. I made the mistake one time of thinking I would do the radiator a favor by using some real thick material, I couldn't even get the shaft to begin to line up. Find some thinner material, if it's too thin, you can always double it up.

Had the same problem on a 450, we had put things in wrong. We pulled it back out and put it back right and no more problem
