I am working on an F-20 restoration, and wanted to use some very durable paint. I bought a urethane paint at the auto supply store. It is OMNI AU (made by PPG). The PPG # for it is MTK 71310 C, IH red. The 71310 number can also be used to mix other types of PPG. They also offered a Case/IH red, but it is darker. I have painted the wheels and seat and a few other parts, and am very impressed with the result. Extremly glossy.

Has anybody bought paint online? I've emailed Dupont a couple of times - I was hoping they could give me a local retailer. They've got a good product - my company has used it for industrial applications. But they won't respond to me, maybe an individual customer isn't important enough to them. Maybe I'll try PPG....

I dont think you can buy direct. Try your local automotive paint supplier.

PPG acrylic enamel (#70019), for the letter series. CaseIH (CNH) has the exact match in spray cans for touch-up.

One of the problems that I've had using the spray cans for touchup is that it "wrinkles" the undercoat paint. Anybody else have that problem??
It's almost like applying latex over enamel.

I have been using a locally manufactured IH red on my Farmall, so I am stuck with this brand since I started the front end. I have a fair amount of touchup to do so I am going to mix up a batch and do a "blow in" when I am painting some other parts of phase II of my restoration. I really do not like to use the spray cans, at least not on this project. Still planning on painting that new trailer IH red too. Otis

Sounds like the dryer in the spray is too HOT. Might be acetone or MEK. Might ask the supplier.
