I would like to convert my C to hyd. lift with cylinders, instead of the arms on the hyd. unit. I don't know where to find info. or how to begin making the changes.

You can get a block that goes between the hydraulic manifold and the touch control unit to convert to use a control valve for remote cylinders. You unbolt the manifold from the unit, and insert the block under with the appropriate gaskets. The block gives you a supply and return port which you can pipe to a control valve to operate cylinders. Then you have the best of both worlds---the rockshaft arms still work and you have remote cylinder capability. Saginaw County Tractor and others sells these blocks that work with the Super A and the C and super C. If you have an implement cylinder that requires a large volume, you may need to add an auxiliary reservoir.

I have done this and it works reasonably well and I have seen other posts that have �fine-tuned� my ideas.

I took the whole assembly out from underneath the gas tank and built a reservoir tank to take its place. I removed the controls from the top of the light/steering post and replaced them with the double acting spool valve. Then I cut the pipes leading from the hydraulic pump and welded pipe couplings on them so that I could attach hoses and plumb in the hydraulics. The tank has a fill on the left side (when sitting on the tractor) and a lower suction outlet on the right side by the starter. I put a tee on this so that the return from the spool valve is plumbed in with the suction side of the hydraulic pump. The pump is not the fastest in the world, but it is enough to handle the cylinder on my 1100 IH mower and I used to use it on the hoists under the grain wagons for unloading.
