Paint scheme for Little Genius

Ok, I have a two bottom, #8 on rubber. I believe the wheels were Ivory (any particular shade?), most of the frame, good old IH red, and some blue on the plow and associated parts. Is this right? How much gets blue? What about coulters, jointers, etc.? Also, any Mc-D decals?

It seems like the same old questions just keep popping up.

Oh well, The frame is IH red, wheels are cream ( I used Rustolem cream), plows, coulters, and associated parts are blue (Ford blue is close), and the hitch itself is black. Here is a picture of several models and actual. There was one decal as far as I know. You can see it in the bottom picture. Let me know if you can find a source.

I wouldn't necessarily trust an Ertl toy for proper reference material. Although the plows pictured do match my references, alot of times they have wrong parts or are painted the wrong colors. I can name about 5 things that are incorrect on the precision series Farmall Regular.

I'm not so sure that they were always painted the same. I remember 3 of them from my misspent youth. The oldest was on steel, and I'm pretty sure was all red. I have no way of knowing if this one was original, but this was back in the mid 60's when the word "restoration" wasn't in the dictionatary yet, and nobody would ever think of repainting a tractor, let alone a plow. It had sat in a barn for many years after the original owner died. The second my Dad bought new in the mid 40's, and I remember that as all red, too. I'm pretty sure the wheels were red, and I'm real sure the tail wheel mechanism wasn't blue, like in the pictures above. The third was bought by my uncle in the mid 50's, and that one was tri-colored. I clearly remember how snazzy that looked new. It had the trash boards on the ends of the moldboards too. So there's a little more fuel for the fire.

Brian, in the bottom picture I see a triple 20 with duals in the background. I have saw that tractor before. Where are you located? Does a old man own it along with a double 20. Just wondering. Bill {Antique Acres}

That was a pretty cool looking tractor huh. How many folks do things like that. I have several friends asking me when I am going to put duals on my C. I can barely afford the single tires on there now.

I am in central Illinois. I get all over to tractor shows. I just can't get enough of them.

Brian there is another label.It's on the top rear frame rail on the left side on mine you can just make out part of it but you can see the number 8 clearly.Still looking for decals.Keep you posted
