I finally got my 1940 AV. Getting ready to roll up my sleeves and get started on a full resto. Not sure what color these exhaust lifts are. I've seen some black and some blue. Which would best fit my AV?

This AV is 1940... so yes - a early one. Sounds like I can get away with blue, black, red or brass. This gives me much more creative choices and I promise to post with pics when done.
Thanks guys... as always great feedback!!

They were painted RED but the finish on the cycl is a BLUE hard finish so the RED paint wuold fall off. If yours is a real early one the metal would be brass but still had the BLUE applied then painted RED. Later ones were steel still had hard BLUE finish then painted RED. Ours was that way when new and RED fell off soon. I have several of them all the same. New ones in original box at RED POWER SHOW were RED. QUESTION how do i get BLUE off so i can polish the BRASS.

My guess is if they came on the tractor new, they would have been painted red like everything else.

I thought so too... this one was red. I've heard that blue or black was the correct color? Shrug, Not sure what to do at this point.

The one on dad's 1941 A was blue like the 16 inch plow and the cultivators it was optional hand lift or Exhuast Lift for the plows.
