Several days ago I posted about my 240 Utility turning over slow. Responses indicated using 0 or 00 cable. My question, and the ? of Farm/Fleet folks and IH dealer is - does 0 relate to 1/0 GA and does 00 relate to 2/0 G/A cable? Thank you for any response.

Figures, the Farm/Fleet and IH dealer folks would be retarded... If they don't know what it is, they ain't got it anyway. Go to a place that deals in large trucks, or a welding shop for your super-heavy-duty battery cables.

Go with the 00 (2/0) . It is .364 diameter and is plenty.

Yup. And have someone build you cables out of welding cable. It is more flexible. Electrical service cable this size is just too stiff.

Now the IH guy said welding cable would be more stiff than the 2/0 cable they have to make up battery cables with.

2/0 is usually called "2 ought",because its not 2 gauge,but 2 gauges on the other side of zero.So you would have 6,4,2,1,0,1/0,2/0,3/0.The "oughts" are larger than on the other side of zero.Go with the biggest....2/0 or 3/0 (even 4/0).
