I just got a f-12. I have 2 questions.1 Lever for the mag, witch way is on and off.I read on here to put the lever part way to start. Then put it on full on? 2 900-40 tires. Can I put on the outer rims off an H? If not Iam open for ideas. More questions to come. Thanks Bill

As far as I know, the H never had 40" tires, so the rims won't interchange to the F12 40" centers.

Mine has 38" centers, rims and tires from either a C or an H (Don't know, they were on it when I bought it).

Gives the Correct Police fits, but it was nearly brand new rubber, and a set of 40" rims, tires and tubes from Miller woulda set me back about $2,000 with shipping.

On F-12, the mag control lever turns from about 10;00 position to about 2;00 position. With lever in the 10;00 position, as far as it will turn counterclockwise, the mag is grounded out inside. Turn it so it is 12;00, staraight up and down to crank it. After it starts advance the spark by turning clockwise to the 2"00 position. When hand cranking it, be sure that that magneto is clicking, 1 click for each 1/2 turn of the crank. If it is not clicking, it can kick back and hurt you bad. Personaly when fooing around with an unknow tractor, if it has a belt pulley on it, I llike to put the pulley unit on my TE-20 Ferguson, put on a flat belt and let "Mr. Ferguson" do the cranking. Then you can tinker with the one you are trying to start, check for fire, try different setting on the carb etc. Works for me.
