Need some info on a i.h. power unit that i have. It looks like a cub engine with a 7 inch pulley. serial #on the unit is 50B 6310. The #on the engine is 12 22 S. the #under that is 251341R2L. I WOULD like to know if i can put a starter ring on the fly wheel so i can put a starter on it. it has a plate over the hole that the starter goes in. i also would like to know the model and year.

Most everything on a Cub C-60 engine parts will fit, The radiator & hoses are the main differences. Some parts mountings are also different.

I AM LOOKING FOR THE WATER DRAIN PLUG THAT SCREWS IN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WATER PIPE THAT CONNECTS THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE TO THE ENGINE. DOES A CUB HAVE THIS, OR IS THIS METHOD TO DRAIN THE RADIATOR JUST ON A POWER UNIT?

Not on the tractors, just the power units. The original may have been a plug with the sort of wing nut top. It is standard pipe thread so you can use a standard pipe plug.

Your power unit is from a Baler. I have one with serial# 50B 6400 and it is a 1950 from its date number of [20 50 T]. Yours is probably a 1949 but I would have to look it up to be sure. I was going to put a starter ring-gear on mine but I dont start it enough to make it worth while. Mine starts very easy with the hand crank.
