To answer both Ron and Corky's questions. All I know about location is that it came from Colorado "that dosen't mean it was used there", and that it was used to plow Beets. That's why the scrapers are taken off, beacuse the bound up in them. And as far as pulling it, I DO NOT plan on using my H. I have a AC WD with a 45 kit in it that I might give a shot, but I am going to mostly use it at shows for demostrations. I have a couple friends with some W series tractors that will pull it a steam engine which I will post a picture of later today. Thanks. Bill {Antique Acres}

Using it to "plow Beets" (that most likely means sugar beets) sure fits in as another reason why a disk plow would be needed. If any of you have ever been around sugar beet land and machinery, you know how hard packed that ground can become if the harvest takes place in wet conditions with the heavy trucks leaving wheel ruts "everywhere". A very interesting piece of equipment for an antique display. Caution: I think an Allis WD-45 will be too light to handle it for real plowing unless you just "scratch the surface". They pull very hard and "will go down to China" if you let them. Even a W-9 will have a tough time with 6 blades at regular plowing depths.

Bill, These were known by the name "disk plow" in North Dakota where I grew up. We had a 5 bottom John Deere that we pulled with a WD-9. They were quite popular in rocky ground. Moldboard plows would wear quickly and not stay in the ground in certain rocky soils so farmers went to the disk plows. This 6 blade unit will need probably 50 to 60 HP if you plan to use it for real plowing. I've never seen one just like what you have here.

It basicly matches Number 33 or Number 34 except all pictures I have of these only have three wheels.

Bill its a #33 built from 1928 to 1942 from the 150 Year IH book. It was available from 3 to 7 furrows. Picture in the book versus your excellent photos are a dead match.

Hey Red! Thanks for the info. How rare do you think this plow might be? Have you ever saw another one? And how would I go about year of manufacture or is there such a thing on plows. I am working on some bigger photos of my H before and after. stay tuned. Thanks Bill {Antique Acres}
