Does anybody know if the scavenging pump is timed to the actual injection pump or not. Also how is it driven. Keyed, splined or ?. The books that I have doesn't say to much about removing and replacing it and I just want to be sure. Thanks for the help again.
Brad

If you mean a gas start diesel Its driven by a square coupling and not timed. On farm tractor like 400 D ETC remove fuel lines, strainer and 2 5/16 bolts and it will slide out.

Sorry about that forgot that part 47 MD gas start. If it is not timed have to take it out and hope that is my fuel flow problem. Hoping for just bad, leaking seals and gaskets.

If you do have a problem with the primary (scavange) pump there is a good source for these parts. I got mine from John at Diesel Specialties in Sioux City, Ia. They are cheap to repair yourself. Good Luck.
