A while ago I asked what engine would fit in a F12 with no motor, and wondered if a jeep engine would fit. Last month I found a f12 with a jeep engine, and bought it. It ran, but barely, and had a flat tire. I brought it home, fixed the tire, gave it a tuneup, new wiring, rebuilt the starter and generator, and took off the chevy radiator, and installed a f12 radiator and hood. I had to make new spigots for the radiator, to get them to point in the right direction, but it fit. I cleaned it up, and painted it, and now just need the decals to have a useable tractor, which may fool some folks, since it looks believeable. I will try to take a picture in better lighting tomorrow.

Neat, a hotrod tractor.
What would you call that? A Feep? A Jeermall? A Jeff-12?

Neat!

Sure would appreciate some closeups, if you get a chance.

I got this old frame and transmission to an F14 left over... :-)

Hi ya Paul. The neat thing about this is, a person can take a bunch of leftover parts, do a little welding, and some fabrication and come up with something usefull, and not have a bunch of money into it. How about a little diesel from a small car or truck?

Hey! good idea. My buddy stanley has several diesel chevettes in his yard, and I bet that would fit just fine.

Boy I dont know about that in an F-12, but it might have enough power for say,,, a cub cadett????? ??
I see you have a couple more F series to play with, so fire up that torch, strike a couple arcs, do a little grinding and splash on a little paint, and let us know what ya did... Steve T

Thanks. I should mention this has a willys jeep flathead 4 engine, from a world war 2 jeep. Whoever installed it in the frame did a nice job, with no cutting necessary. The bell housing clears by 1/8 inch, and the oil pump clears by 1/8 inch. The original front mounts rest on the frame rails positioning the engine at just the right height. They made a shaft to replace the jeep transmission shaft and mounted a carrier bearing on the bell housing where the front transmission bearing would be on a jeep, with a farmall U joint to the f12 transmission. The original hood, radiator, and gas tank fit in the original locations. It's like this engine was made for this tractor. Since the jeep is capable of higher rpm, it really can move along. The only improvement I would like is a fanbelt driven governor. Will try to get better picures tomorrow if it dont rain.
