Can anyone tell me what type and weight of oil or hyd. fluid do you use in the transmission? (it has dual hyd. lifts on the three point hitch)
early 50"s model

The others are right unless by some odd chance you are going to pull the snot out of it for hours at a time in constant temps over 70 F. Then heavier (I think the next is 140) would be a better bet.

Rusty is right. 90 Weight oil.

And the manual calls for 13 gallons of it!

The transmission and rear end of your tractor is all one unit, and should be filled with 80-90 weight gear oil. The hydraulics on your tractor are completely separate from the trans/rear end, and have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

the hyd.pump is inside the transmission and is fed by hoses that come out of both sides and have a valve that you turn on and off on both sides. is 90 weight still the oil to use?
