just bought a 361 to put n my 560diesel and it bolted up except the clucth and flywheel likes about an inch and half from going up on the splines any info on what to do next

Curious what is the diameter of the flywheel of the 361 and 560 including starter ring.Wonder what if you had a machine shop make a spacer with line up dowls and a flange to extend the flywheel back to mate with the imput shaft.Does the 361 have the same number of flywheel bolts as the 560 may have to use it.The starter ring will have to line up with starter drive.I know the guys that put a 414 in their 560 had to do something with the starter mounting.Let use know how it is coming along!

hello ejr-ia the diameterof the 361 flywheel is 17inches and the 282 is 14 are 15 inches and i thought bout a spacer im afraid that when that motor start crankin rpms it mite let loose also the 282 fly wheel has a spacer made into it they also both have the same number of bolts the difference is that the361 has bigger bolts and bolt pattern think i found a guy 2 make me a steal fly wheel for 950 that sound high

You might post this over on the puller board. There is a good chance that somebody over there has tried this setup and can tell you which clutch will work.
