HI Guys I have a farmall A with a broken block.Kid + tree = broken block.Anyhow 6342DH broke, 6342DE good used. Are they the same inside and out? What the diff.between DE--DH? Thanks Bill

Seems to be a difference related to the front fuel tank mount. Looks like the later block requires the later bracket but going the direction you are going should be OK.

I believe those are the year codes. Not an issue.
If both are C113, or C123 cool. If 1 is 113 and the other a 123 then there are internal size differences for pistons and wet sleeves. Either way if rebuilding, use the 3.125 sleeves that have the same spigot O.D. size (bottom of sleeve.
If the engine is off of another tractor, should be no problem, if it is off of a combine or power unit, front covers, mounts, dipsticks, and crank shaft pilot bushing holes may (or may not) be different.
Good luck, they were probably the same.
