If I were to purchase a live hyd. pump, what else would I need to purchase to make it work without failure. The pump that I am looking at seems to be incomplete but am not sure. Also would it be easier to just install a belly pump if I can find one. The "live" part is not as important right now as having some hydraulics, but "live' is always better. Thanks
Brad

Also if someone could post pics of the way that the pump looks on the tractor would be helpful also. My MD is also equipped with a magneto would that be a factor also?

The Primary concern with a live pump is the direction it turns, the MD mag (or dist) turns opposite of the gas engine M. The Year may be prior to the installation of stronger drive gears ( I had a 48 MD, but never had the drive apart or researched it. It is for sure not the same as a super M mount system, the bolt holes are different on the top of the mount on the drive end.
A belly pump should be much easier to find and install. They are also (to my thinking stone reliable if kept filled with hydraulic oil.
Good hunting,
JimN

Here is a diagram for a two way Hydro on an H or M with a belly pump, I hope it helps.
