Started hearing noise under right rear wheel. Lately has gotten more steady. Don't believe it related to final drive noise don't seem to be coming from there. Fairly certain got something to do with brake band. Any ideas what to look at first. Bands are old could piece have come loose and be rubbing against some metal. If so what would be best idea to fix? And most economical. Thanks

Hugh, Brakes are old but it will skid the tire if you mash hard enough. Least ways it did when I tried it on dry grass area while back...

Hugh, it is pretty much continuous when in motion. Also when you move tractor by hand you can hear some scrubbing. I sprayed some PB blaster inside and it lessened the sound some. I almost believe piece of the band has got rough place somewhere which accounts for the scrubbing noise. Thanks,

Avery: How effective is the brake if you step on it while moving?

Avery: Is this a noise you hear continuously while tractor is moving or just when you apply the brakes? I doubt if your going to know for sure until you remove the final drive. Drive line noises are funny as the source can fool you.
