Installing Our F-14 Magneto Base

When we bolt the magneto base to the engine, does it matter how the two gears mesh? I see no markings on the gear of the magneto base and assume that timing will come later.

Right, because the timing disk has a series of holes you line up wherever it needs to be.

I don't remember 100% absolutely for sure, but I believe that is correct. I do have the procedure for timing the mag when installing it on the base if you need it.

Today we put the base on and followed the instructions in an F-12 owner's manual to time it. I would really like to see the steps that you have. Can you post here or email them? The good news is that we had a spark at the #1 cylinder/plug (probably the first in 30 or 40 years for this tractor). I would like to follow your instructions to verify that it is correct. Thanks.
