On my Farmall Cub today the gear that turns the rotor button slipped, making it fire at the wrong time. I guess what im supposed to do is get the number one piston top dead center(which is all the way up I presume)Then move the rotor button around so that it will line up with the number one piston on the distributer cap,am i right? ive never had to do this before.

There are timing marks to line up the gear position. One tooth of the drive gear is notched. The rib opposite the contact on the rotor is the mark to align on it.
