I am in the process of painting a 240 utility, how long does it take for the paint to cure? I can chip it with my fingernails after about 48 hours. I dont want to try to bolt the sheet metal back on until it is fully cured and hard.

Depends on the paint, and the temperature. Enamel takes about 3 days before it is fairly dry, and a week or so to be set up good, at 70 degrees. Urethane takes a day to dry, and is set up good in a few days, but takes 3 weeks to fully cure at 70 degrees. Colder weather will take much longer.
