I have a farmall A two weeks ago it was running fine now it takes a long time to start and when it does start it does not run smooth and will only run for a couple minutes. I replaced the points, condenser, spark plugs, plug wires, cleaned the carb and check the timing could the coil be bad? Thanks Barry

With #1 spark plug out turn engine over and check when it is on T.D.C. that the rotor is lined up with the tower on the cap.

My first guesses would be an obstructed vent in the gas cap, or restricted fuel flow due to rust and junk in the gas tank.

Good luck,
Bill

First off you should check the spark and see if its a nice blue spark or a weak yellow spark. Most of the time when a coil goes bad it is either bad or takes and hour or so to heat up and stop working. Or you could also have a gas flow problem, make sure you have a good steady flow of gas out of the carb drain plug. If you don't then check the fuel line/tank for problems
