How far should I go with the B?

I'm still hoping the pistons will free up; 2 have, 2 haven't, Opened up the transmissions case & drained oil, everything looks ok there. Taking off the starter, the ring gear looks to be wore on the drive side. Should I take block to a machine shop & have the pistons pressed out and block cleaned, check out the clutch and change the ring gear around? Any ideas on what kind of $$ we're talking?

What you have now is useless, and to make it useful it will need new pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings etc anyway. Just take the pistons and sleeves out of it together. Save the connecting rods and buy a kit with all new parts.

I rebuilt my B over the past winter and have about $1,000 in it in parts and machine shop expenses. I replaced everything: pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, wrist pin bushings, seals, gaskets, ring gear & clutch. Had the block baked and blasted. Rebuilt the governor & replaced the front pulley.

Why mees around as the engine is junk just take it to a shop and let them press old stuff out. You have to have new stuff anyway.

What all have you done to free up those pistons that are stuck??? Do you have the head off?? If you do you might try this. Fill those 2 almost all the way to the top with tranny fluid. Then put about a tablespoon of gas on top of that but only if its out side or where it is safe to do this. Then light the gas/tranny fluid mix and let it burn. When it goes out add a little more gas and relite, keep doing that till almost all of it is burned and then see if they will move.

I took off the head a couple months ago and filled the cylinders with marvel mystery oil/ATF. As I mentioned 2 of the cylinders seem to have loosened up. Seems harsh to set fire in the cylinders. As this worked for you before? Wondering if pressing them out is an option for a machine shop.

Yep done more then one engine that way when they wouldn't turn loose with tranny fluid and or turpentine or a mix of the 2. What it does is heats the block and sleeves but not the piston and rings. Also gets the tranny fluid hot and thinner and it sort of creeps down and around things better that way.
