Still soaking the B, one sleeve is corroded on the top and I suspect the piston is not too good either; there are some used pistons and sleeves on ebay. Will something like that work, or is it better to go with new?

Might as well go with new pistons and sleeves now to save yourself some hassles down the road.If the sleeves are corroded that bad the wrist pins might not be that good either.A B has wet sleeves ,so the o-rings might leak too.Just probably easier now.Good luck.My grandpa always told me to buy new parts if I could because you already have used parts and you might get ones that are worse than what you got.

The used stuff sounds a little dicey to me. I must admit I've never replaced sleeves in a tractor, but I know that in cars the pistons and cylinders don't always wear in a concentric circle -- sometimes they wear in a slightly oval shape. This could be bad news if you don't match up each used piston with its correct sleeve, AND get each sleeve oriented in just the right direction. (I'm assuming sleeves don't have alignment/indexing marks; maybe they do.) Maybe a reasonable compromise would be used pistons with new sleeves.

In the long run its better to do it right and replace all the sleeves and pistons. Then you know you have a good engine. Useing used sleeves can be a night mare BTDT and lost when I did. I tried to use some used sleeve and found that the engine they camew out of had the block shaved and then I could ever got the head gasket to seal as it should have becauce the one sleeve sat down to low
