Don't spend that $50 yet, the bearing place I went to listed it in the catalog but couldn't get it, an OEM part only available from IH.

Same here. I bought a 'replacement' bearing and a new one from IH. Would have been much easier to buy it from IH first.

arod, why won't you buy a service manual for this tractor ? They give step by step instructions.

I really should purchase a service manual, you are right. I just started tinkering, and keep digging deeper and deeper into problems, and now am servicing a broken transmission.

Never WANTED to get this in depth, but kind of enjoy it, so yeah, I need to suck it up and shell out the 25$ of so for a manual.
