The pump on my Cub must be leaking oil through the seal, cause i gots a bunch of extra oil in the crankcase. Is the seal a IH seal or one ordinery o-ring? Next thing , how does the gear that drives the pump come off? I can't get the nut loose and don't know if i should clamp the gear in the vise and ruin it. I got the lock washer flaten out. Thanks for any help.
Alvin

There were 2 different versions. Early one used seal, 355742R91, later ones used an oring 252739R1 1/2 x 11/16 x 3/32. you can get kit that has oring, line orings, pump body gasket, part number 355208R91. the nut takes some persuasion to get off, but is pretty hard. I hold them wiht large channel locks or vice grips, and use 3/8 impact wrench. The key under the gear is soemtimes hard to remove also. Had one I finally took to machine shop and after fighting it for 20 minutes he welded a nut to it so he could pull it out.

Just like john said: all the seals are still available from case/ih. I would block the gear into a vise with wood or brass, to not mare the teeth. Give it a whirl with the inpact
