I'm going to add my .02. Brother in-law and I were at the local Case dealer getting parts for the 7250. They have a 766 sitting on the lot with a hiniker cab, almost bald tires, needed paint, and a ton of hours....like 12,000+. Their asking price was $13,500.00! thats right. Apparently there was less than 2000 766's built and this one had a low serial#

Allan is right 766 are very rare to find on used lots, and they don't stay there very long. There is a good reason, farmers are still working them. The very best of the 66 series in my opinion.

PM,

The 766 has a 360D engine; no turbo.

Great tractor and they are getting awfully rare anymore; ya just don't hardly ever see 'em settin' on the lots, so if that one is in pretty good shape, it probably is as cheap as you're gonna find.

The only downside to the tractor that I can remember is that they are very LOUD! That engine just screams at wide open throttle!

I,ve also heard they are a touch under powered for the weight, I believe they are close to the weight of the 966. Maybe Alan can share on that. I'm thinkin in the 12000 lb range. All that said they are a fine tractor. GO FOR IT!!!

Yep,

Just about identical to the 966.

They really aren't "underpowered" as such, but if you own both, you'll sure notice it soon enough. :>)
